About Empire Volleyball Academy
We are brand new to the area, but not brand new to the game, bringing coaches with a lot of experience and enthusiasm about volleyball. Empire Volleyball Academy is a Junior volleyball club based in Odenton, MD. Our goal is to grow our athlete's skills and level of play while inspiring their love and passion for volleyball. Jordyn Beans
Director
Head Coach- 16 Dynasty & 18 Utopia
Jordyn Beans is the founder and director of Empire Volleyball Academy. She has 8 years of coaching experience and 18 years of playing experience (competing at the collegiate and professional level). She is passionate about helping young girls develop both on and off the court. From growing up here and going to college in Florida where she coached and played, she came home with the desire to help develop CHRVA athletes to that next level and competing with the best of the best all across the country.

Gabbi Taganas
Head Coach- 15 Regency
Coach Gabbi has been coaching for 5 years now, a variety of ages at the club level. She played at University of Notre Dame here in MD, where she received many accolades as a Middle Blocker. This will be her first year at Empire Volleyball Academy and she is excited to bringing her passion for the game and knowledge from over 10 years of playing to the next generation of volleyball players.
Chelsea Elliott
Assistant Coach- 15 Regency
Howard Battle III, C.S.C.S
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Assistant Coach- 18 Utopia
Howard Battle is joining Empire with over 20 years of experience of taking athletes to the next level. He is coming in to make them faster, stronger, and jump higher. He has trained amateur athletes and all the way up to professional athletes. He is bringing a wealth of knowledge to improve the health and development of the athletes.
Romonzo Beans
Head Coach- 14 Territory
Coach Monzo has over 30 years of coaching experience, having sent many athletes to play collegiate volleyball at all levels. He has coached at the high school, club, and Division 1 collegiate level. He is a key part to developing our younger athletes and preparing them to elevate their game to prepare for high school and to take on the next level of volleyball.
Bethany Hayden
Head Coach - 15 Domain
Coach Bethany has over 9 years of coaching experience at both the high school (Old Mill High School) and club level. She has a strong love for the game and is committed to helping our athletes grow as volleyball players and strong, well-rounded, young women.
Nora Karsten
Assistant Coach- 15 Domain
Coach Nora has 4 years of coaching experience at both the High school and club level. She has a strong love for the game as she still plays in many adult leagues around MD. She is committed to helping our athletes and developing their skills. She is known for working with developing setters and helping create their fundamentals. She loves watching each athlete grow in their skills and their passion for the game.
Olivia Joachim
Assistant Coach-
Olivia Joachim has 3 years of coaching experience, in which she has been the Head Coach of a high school JV program. She is looking forward to the next steps in her coaching career and is excited to be joining Empire to grow the game and share her love and passion for the game.
